New Website For “Terre des hommes – Mines d’Or”

Author: Romain Dehaudt, Head of Revenue & Operations

Terre des hommes, the largest non-governmental organization (NGO) for children’s aid in Switzerland launched an ambitious campaign on mining child labor in Burkina Faso, with the support of Emakina, highlighting the exploitation of child labor with a sensible call to recruit new sponsors and collect donations.

In order to realize this campaign Emakina created an event page for the campaign, redirecting the user to the institutional website.

NGO goes Innovation

The Full Service Digital Native Agency sought a way to illustrate the campaign with the help of advanced technological solutions with display campaigns such as re-targeting in order to grab people’s attention to visit the website.

Built around an interactive animation, the website is mainly realized in motion design. Using the latest and most efficient technologies on the Web such as HTML 5, CSS3 and JavaScript, helped the creative team of Emakina to produce several animated sequences from pictures to create a unique user experience.

Using the latest tracking strategies developed by its Belgian sister agency,
The Reference“ Emakina’s emphasis was to transmit an emotion via picture streaming, impossible to be reproduced with video streaming alone.

This technique creates an emotion where the user finds himself trapped in the tunnel with 13-year-old Joseph. The visitor’s attention increases, leading to an in-depth experience and is something never used before in the NGO campaigning.

Giving a Voice

The campaign will be running until 14th November 2014.

Furthermore, Emakina has the great honor to announce that this unique event project will be competing at the “Grand Prix Romand de la Création” making a significant gesture to promote an often unspoken issue.
