How did we bring to Antwerp 1,000 people from all over the world?
Easily! By revolutionising the TEDxFlanders website, its annual event received the attention it deserved!
TEDxFlanders is a local and independent branch of the global TED network, organising international conferences on “ideas worth spreading” on Flemish territory. Its 2012 event took place last Saturday in the Antwerp opera house, bringing together brilliant speakers and curious listeners from all over the world. But what is a brilliant speaker without proper digital presence…?
Design is Dead and Emakina.BE partnered with TEDxFlanders in order to create a brand new website, making sure it is inviting, informative, attractive, and of course… in line with the three concepts TED stands for: technology, entertainment and design!
The website is based on Drupal 6, containing COD attributes, COD-specific configuration and a JQuery UI library. It equally integrates social features which are synchronised with Twitter, Facebook, flickr, YouTube, and more!
Equally important, the event turned out to be a great success, with fascinating lectures from scientists, politicians, athletes, entrepreneurs, architects, and others. No doubt, good ideas are worth spreading, but they also need a proper digital springboard…
