Virtual Gallery
The de jonckheere gallery is specialized in the purchase, restoration and sale of fine art paintings.
The De Jonckheere gallery publishes a high-quality, quarterly catalogue which was our challenge to build the virtual gallery while benefiting from high quality and high resolution printed material into web content.
Based on XML technology, the catalogue was engineered into a powerful search engine that facilitates the result of one single master to many master pieces available for purchase and view related images accompanied by detailed descriptions.
The XML used to construct the site was generated straight from quark Xpress ™, the same final-stage format used to print the actual De Jonckheere catalogues.
The web site is a comprehensive example of the flexible interaction between print and web publishing.
